1. Win Your Morning, Win Your Day
Don’t wing it if you want to live happier - some parts of a tried-and-true system:

  • Prepare: Do the most simple thing to increase the chances of your routine sticking - put a notepad beside where you sit, put your socks by your shoes, line up your favorite music on your device.

  • Calm: Journal/Meditate: Reflect on what excites you, what you’re proud of, and why your work matters. affirmations are consistently proven to improve quality of life 

  • Move: It doesn’t have to be much - just do something — walk, stretch, or yoga.

  • Kick-it: Eat the frog—knock out your hardest or weightiest task first - it’ll trick your brain into “I thought that was going to be a big deal, and it wasn’t, I bet all this other stuff I’m delaying will be even easier!”

Why it works: You move from reactive to proactive, if you don’t setup the controls of your mind it’ll control you & your day.

2. Accountability Without Judgment
It’s easy to judge yourself when things don’t go as planned. Shift from judgment to curiosity:

  • Instead of “Why did I fail?” ask: “What can I learn, and how do I adjust?”

  • Accountability should be motivating, not punishing.

  • Your are a tomato, not a rubber ball, the more you beat yourself up the harder it’ll be to move forward - kicking your own ass isn’t going to move you faster.
